Your Surgery

 

he Surgery Center will call you the day before your surgery to answer any of your questions. If we do not reach you or you have questions, please give us a call at (419) 627-8557 or 1-866-621-8557. You should plan on arriving at least an hour before the time of your surgery. Please be aware that surgery times must sometimes be adjusted. We will make every attempt to contact you as soon as possible about these changes.

Feel free to call us with your questions. Our hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

 

 

Prior to your surgery:


Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the day before your surgery this includes water, coffee, chewing gum or tobacco and smoking (your surgery could be cancelled if you drink or eat anything).

  • If instructed have your pre-admission testing done
  • If you are on medication like coumadin or other blood thinners, please talk with your doctor about if and when you should discontinue them before your surgery.
  • If you are instructed you may take certain medication with a sip of water.
  • Arrange for someone to drive you home the day of surgery (your surgery could be cancelled if you do not have a driver). You should plan to have someone stay with you for the first twenty-four hours after surgery.

 

The day of your surgery:


Wear loose, comfortable clothing (for some surgeries you will be allowed to keep your underwear and pants on, so wear pants with no metal snaps or zippers)

  • Leave your jewelry and valuables at home as we cannot be responsible for loss.
  • Take off all rings, necklaces and bracelets and please remove false fingernails.
  • Bring a driver’s license or photo I.D.
  • Bring your insurance card
  • For children bring their favorite stuffed animal, blanket or pacifier.
  • If the child takes a bottle or wears diapers, please bring them with you.
